This covers the whole of Theme 2, Topic 2 – ‘Social Issues’. The PowerPoint is very lengthy (68 slides) and contains work for six or seven lessons. The PowerPoint is broken down into four sections: 1) Grammar; 2) Listening; 3) Reading and Writing; and 4) Speaking. There are several different worksheets to accompany a broad range of exercises on the PowerPoint, as well as a transcript for the listening and answer sheets also appear on the PowerPoint. The exercises include: vocabulary match-ups; verb and tenses exercises; a listening comprehension with different tasks; several reading comprehensions with different types of exercises to complete; translations in English and into French; photo stimuli for written tasks; blog writing tasks (foundation and higher); two role-play cards (foundation and higher); five photo cards for speaking activities and finally questions related to the general conversation section of the speaking exam.

This fun Easter resource gives lots of information about Easter traditions in France in English. It then goes on to introduce 10 Easter related words in French, followed with a match-up activity, anagrams and a word search. Pupils are then asked to make a French Easter card, with lots of examples and there are 5 templates that can be printed and used. Each template has ‘Joyeuses Pâques’ and an Easter picture to colour. This is a set of three Power Points, which introduce pupils to asking questions in a step-by-step format. There is a PowerPoint and accompanying worksheet for: the present tense; another for the perfect tense; and another for the near future tense. The slides on each of the Power Points contain grammar notes that pupils can note in their exercise books and use as a reference for all future work using the interrogative in French. It is essential that pupils learn to ask questions as well as being able to answer them, at all levels. The 4 ways of asking questions are all introduced and there is a range of practice exercises for all Power Points. This is a tried and tested method to ensure comprehension and check the ability to confidently form questions in French in these three tenses.

This resource introduces 15 school subjects with many fun practice activities. It introduces questions and answers about likes and dislikes as well as opinions/ reasons. It goes on to introduce and practise phrases connected to being good/ bad at subjects as well as talking about favourite subjects. There are pair work speaking activities, reading activities and writing activities. The reading activities include texts with true/false exercises as well as activities with open-ended questions. There is a school timetable that students could replicate and questions to answer about the timetable they see. Answers for all activities appear on the PowerPoint. By the end of the PowerPoint (70 slides) pupils will be able to write a paragraph about their school subjects (likes/dislikes, opinions and so on), either by using a given template or by prompts. There is a lengthy worksheet, which accompanies the activities on the PowerPoint and a separate word search document.

This resource is to actively practise and use the 3 past tenses – imperfect, perfect and pluperfect. It goes through a revision of each tense with exercises to check comprehension for each tense and an accompanying worksheet. Then the main text is introduced which is part of a ‘mysterious story’. This is first as a listening activity with two different exercises to complete and a worksheet. The text is then used as a reading comprehension with a range of questions, grammar and writing activities to complete. The final writing activity involves creative writing, as students need to provide their own ending to the mystery. Answers to activities are on the PowerPoint. This should certainly take two – three lessons.

Foundation and higher tier role-plays and teacher’s packs for all. All complied by studying exemplar materials given by all exam boards. 2. 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions and there are a wide range of questions to cover both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all 12 topics/ sub-themes. 3. This is a booklet that can be printed for each student and contains approximately 200 general conversation questions. These questions have put together by researching all exam boards specifications. The questions are in themes and in the 12 topics/sub-themes. They have also been classified into tenses so that pupils can be clear of the tense they need to use to answer the relevant question.

This is a set of resources to introduce and practice telling the time in Spanish, both with the 12 and 24-hour clock. The PowerPoint initially introduces the o’clock times with practice opportunities and then goes on to minutes past the hour. There are plenty of speaking practice activities, true/false activities and writing practice. The PowerPoint then goes on to minutes to the hour with practice and then further practice of the 12-hour clock and some O/X games that can be played in two class teams. The 24-hour clock is then introduced with a whole range of practice activities, as with the 12-hour clock. To accompany the PowerPoint there is a worksheet for all the 12 activities, which are easily editable. Pupils will gain a good knowledge of telling the time in Spanish, and will be able to both recognise time and tell the time.

This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the topics within each theme. For each topic there are 10 translation exercises, as on the Reading Exam. It is contains in total 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. The translations have been created carefully and are in line with exam board exemplar materials. This could be used by pupils at the end of teaching each topic/ sub-theme in order to test/ check understanding and to practise translation skills or used for wider translation purposes.

Easily adaptable for home learning. This PowerPoint introduces 11 colours (rouge, rose, orange, jaune, bleu, vert, blanc, noir, gris, violet, brun) and there are lots of practice activities. The colours are introduced with the words and then there are lots of practice activities without the words. Slides 31 – 33 can be printed as these are colour by number activities. There are match up exercises, find the missing colours, unjumble the words, fill in the missing letters, very short sentences to copy and complete and so on. This bundle contains three resource packs – all specifically designed for the GCSE New Specifications: 1. Translations. This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the 12 topics within each theme. For each topic there are translation exercises both into English, as on the Reading Exams and into French, as the Writing Exams. It is 36 pages in length and contains 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. 2. For the new GCSE exams, pupils will be expected to understand all French exam rubrics. This PowerPoint goes through all rubrics needed, starting with understanding the main verbs, commonly used words and then through to whole instructions in French. There are plenty of exercises for pupils to complete and a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. 3. GCSE Vocabulary. This is a 29 page document which contains AQA French GCSE vocabulary. The vocabulary is categorised in to sections – including themes and topics within themes. It is easy to use these sections or even break down the sections to set regular vocabulary learning homework. This ensures that over the two-year GCSE course, students have been exposed to all essential vocabulary. There are vocabulary extras, particularly in the topics of: technology, social issues and global issues.

The resources introduce and practise: geographical locations; types of accommodation; rooms in the house; and household furniture. There is enough work for at least 6 lessons and there are worksheets that accompany all of the exercises on the Power Points. There is an assessment for pupils to complete, which will take 2-3 lessons. The assessment is based on producing an Estate Agents brochure for selling a house.
